Need to find replacement hinge for a Presario

Compaq Presario 1505US
15" LCD

The left hinge connecting the chassis and the LCD broke in half. I have searched ebay and google for replacement hinge but came up empty handed. I even tried Compaq/HP, they do not sell the hinges on the 1500 series anymore. Does anyone out there know of any place/person I can buy LCD hinges from?

I have a similar problem with my Presario 1800 laptop. The site listed did not have a hinge. Any one have any other places I can check.

Aren't the hinges part of the upper chassis? You can still purchase the top half of the chassis for $90.77 and the hardware/plastics kit for $138.47 which includes "Hardware/plastics kit - Includes (l/r) hinge covers, display release, touchpad bracket, charger board shield, optical drive rails, PC card blank, connector cover, hard drive bracket, Mini PCI cover, memory expansion cover, battery bezel, rubber feet"

I did try poking around the Compaq/HP site a few weeks ago and I did find the top half of the chassis and the hardware/plastics kit but I just need the hinge. (I'm suprized that Compaq didn't try selling me a new laptop.) I tried calling Compaq/HP asking what exactly came with the top half of the chassis, but I gave up after being on hold for a good 45 minutes. I am going to try HP again, and I also have found a computer repair store that can sell me the part. If I get anywhere I will post again.

I never found the replacement hinge. I moved onto a Dell Inspiron 9100 with strong hinges ones. But good luck finding the hinge for your 2715US.
