I don't want dial up or C-Lan access. I need to install a second admin terimal to another location 500 feet away via telephone cross connect. I have the terminal. What do I need to do? Please help.

Snapper I have my second terminal setup through a data module. Thats the only way that I know to hook it up at that distance. I have mine set up at 9600 and it works great.

I have a data module. If you would be so kind as to show me how I would set that up?

This is how the data module that I have for this is setup Snapper.

How would I wire it up? I have to go through telco cross connect?

What kind of packet card does this port work out off?

The board that mine is installed on is a TN 726B data line. This is cross connected to a 4 pair and RJ-45 jack. Then a cable to the data module. I hit control break on the terminal to dial the data extension. Then I get the login prompt.

What is the pin-out on the jack?

It looks like it is setup as a regular 4 wire digital pack, so try the first pair to the white/orange and the second pair to the white/green.

I've got it set-up, but it doesn't work. I get a cursor but no promt.

The power and data are flashing (cannot Communicate with PBX). I have it connected directly to the PBX data port. Now what?

Give me chance to look through the terminal setting. Their may be something that has to be setup in there.

Snapper - what is the pbx make and model and what model data module are you using?

Typically on a G3R, you would connect a TN726 to a TN533. You would then build 8 system data modules with the ports from the TN726 as the "port" and the ports from the TN533 as the "pdata port". Put the 8 data mods in a hunt group and you now have something similar to the Netcon group in a G3i.

PDATA Port: 04B1201

Now flag the "data mod" field on your station to "yes" assuming your phone is on a 4-wire port since you're using a 4 wire data mod.

ABBREVIATED DIALING
List1:

SPECIAL DIALING OPTION:

Connect the data mod up to your terminal, and type atdt 1234 where 1234 is the netcon hunt group number. You can now have up to 8 terminal anywhere you have a digital phone. It's a lot more dynamic and you don't need any special rewiring to move it around. It's just working on a standard DCP port.

After pulling up the dialin number, my dialin numbers are set in a hunt group. I am not sure about the Tn533 as this was setup 11 years ago.

I have the hunt group in place and I've set up my station with data module. Where do I plug in the terminal and data module?

What type of station set should I use?

These are wired off your data line pack, and thats how mine are in the switch. These are assigned as members of the hunt. My data module plugs to the back of the terminal itself.

I think we are making progress. After I did the atdt xxxx command I get a "No Carrier", now what?
