Hello and thanks in advance. I'm putting a option 11c into a new location. S/W 24.4 with all the basic packages. One thing that I was wondering is what package I would need, for a elink. I'm pretty sure its and elink, I wan't to put a ethernet daughterboard on the SSC, have that ethernet run through a vpn router to our main office and have it link with my other option 11 at the main office. I have the ethernet daughterboard already installed and working with another remote site on darkfiber. The other question that I have is that i'm looking for a wireless phone solution. I'm experience with companion but I do not want to put that dieing bread of portable phone in. Some people have told me to stay away from spectralink so i'm just wondering what else is out there that i could hook up to the option 11 without having to put in keycodes to get a certain package because we all know that if i have to get keycodes nortel will want me to upgrade to the newest firmware release.
thanks

well i would like to try to hook up 2 option 11c's and have them talk with each other. I know that I can do this with a tie T1, but i'm just wondering if they can be done with ethernet because it will cost me 75$ for a 6mb pipe to my main office instead of a 400$ price for a tie T1. I have another location running this way on dark fiber but the remote system doesn't have a ssc card in it. It basically acts like a second cabinet that was hooked up with a fiber reciever card.
The new option 11c that I have to put in has't to have a ssc card in it because I need to have a partial t1 with there DID comming in on it. The reason for me to connect the 2 together is to save on long distance and so they only have to dial and extension...They may have to dial a code like 8 to access the proper truck but thats fine.
thanks

Just wondering what software version and hardware I need and if there is another way of doing it. I guess as backup I can order a tie Pri from main office to off-site location.

I am not a network person, but on most routers there are slots to add T-1/PRI interfaces, if you have one on both ends you could set up regular PRI out of each Opt 11 going in to the routers on your data link. You would have to get details from someone with more network equipment knowledge than me though.

thanks for the reply, i have a friend that was telling that I could use a TMD over IP box that acts like a pri and I would need this at both ends but just as trvlr1 was saying then I could program them up as a regular pri with there own access code to those trucks for calling withing the 2 pbx's. Anyone have any experience with the TMD to ip box and are they good or bad?
