hey guys..im looking for a new firewall that has the option to act as a file server, firewall, dhcp server, email server, web server and also be a VPN. i used to use the esoft instagate ex2 and it had all those options but they no longer carry the ex2 they now have the 404 but doesnt have all the options anymore..you guys have any ideas?
sorry if this doesnt belong here..

You could try MS ISA 2004 or 2006. You can run it on a server with two nics, create rules to allow file serving, web hosting, mail, etc. You can set up vpn, although I've found setting ipsec tunnels on it very troublesome. That's the only thing I can think of that will suit your needs.

For what it is worth, here my are my two cents. While it may be cost-effective to have a "swiss-army knife" device, you are opening yourself up to a world of headaches. If all those services are on one device, what happens if the device is compromised? What happens when you need to patch that device? IMHO, appliances should be as specific as possible. Get a firewall. Get a file server. Get an email server, etc. If hardware costs are an issue, you can always use VMWare Server (free) or other virtualization product and virtualize your file server and email server and get a seperate firewall. In my experience, it has been disasterous having one server doing lots of things.
