I current use an hosting service with SQL Server 7.0 running on their server. I am familiar with making databases in Access. I am being told I can use the Enterprise Manager to connect with SQL server running on their server and perform tasks like creating tables, modifying row data, etc.

Since my hosting service has SQL server already running on their system, I don't theoretically need it running on my system. I just need Enterprise Manager to make remote changes and additions to the db on the server.

Is there a Microsoft product that only contains the Enterprise Manager, or does someone else make a product that does what I want.

I appreciate all feedback.

There are other tools that will do it for you as well (such as products from Embarcadero), but they will be quite expensive.

One technique would be to use a client tool that can connect via ODBC to your server; make the connection; and issue commands that do what you want done (i.e., CREATE DATABASE). You can use Microsoft's online help for documentation on these commands.

Another would be to get the limited trial version of SQLS, or perhaps an educational version if you qualify.

Developers using MSDE have pretty much the same dilemma, since MSDE does not come with the GUI tools.
