hi you guys doing,
i got a problem that i can't seem to fix
here it goes...

i have 2 DC's
1.computer.net (192.168.123.135/255.255.255.0)DNS,DHCP,Exchange,AD,DSL connection in one

2.server.net(192.168.1.1/255.255.255.0)AD,DNS,DHCP,WINS,RRAS,2 nics

my problem is: i'm trying to figure out how to use NAT. I've tried setting it up. this is how i set it up: went to RRAS install manual setting, add NAT interface, add relay, add IGMP interface, setup everything to be DHCP addressed. I can ping computer.net and go online. But my users can't ping computer.net or go online. one nic is internal with static ip. the other is using computer.net's dhcp to assign ip address. when i ipconfig/all my users computer, the IP ROUTING is enbled. is that one of the problem?

i've set the DHCP server to assign the router into the 2nd nic. Put lookup zones for computer.net on my DNS. I've been on hands with this for about a week now. I've read all the microsoft documents and it's not working. can someone please tell me alittle more detail, i really need this running soooooooon.....

thank you guys for all the help...

buy a router that does NAT and it'll do all the work for you!! :o)

i could do that...
but i don't have a big network..
it'll be much easier to set it up with w2k
isn't it???

honestly, i don't mess with dhcp and nat. I got the advice to buy a router from a network guru I worked with. He said it can be a BIG pain to try to set it up 'manually' using Win2k. I think it would be MUCH easier and much more efficient to plug in the router, do some minor 'tinkering' and then hide it under the desk and forget about it. Just seems like a lot of processor overhead and a waste of resources for serving out addresses and routing traffic through the LAN and and out to the WAN. Just my 2 cents.

how much would a simple router cost...
really gotta watch out for my budget...

Tommy, does it have NAT capabilities? The router I bought for about $100 doesn't have NAT, but I don't need it anyway.

thanks alot
might think about just getting a router
but i'll try to get it running...
i appriciate all the help...
