Hi all,

Looking for a simple KVM switch for my boss to use at home in small office set up. He only needs to put two PC's on it.

Are there any recommendations or anything I should be looking for. I have seen a very wide price range and since I have never used one I am not sure what to look for.

Thanks,

Would probably be as well off with a cheap Belkin from someplace like Compusa. They now come with attached cables so that cuts down on the cost. Think the last one I bought was about $50.00.
I use cybex, my customers mostly use belkin with a sprinkling of raritan.

Thanks Ed,

Should I be looking for a minimum screen resolution or Mhz?

Nah, they seem to handle everything thrown at them. But, then again, don't think I've seen one in use at more than 1280.

I have several Linksys KVM2-KIT. I am using with 1600x1200 LCD displays. Costs about $35.

Thank you Ed, Jim and Frank! I will check out your suggestions.

I've got one of the Linksys KVM2's and have 1 complaint that you might want to consider. The keyboard port & mouse port are side by side. The arrangement does not allow for 2 devices that are usb with ps2 adapters to fit side by side. So, if you have a usb mouse with ps2 adapter and a usb keyboard with ps2 adapter, they will not both fit. I think that the comparable Belkin model has mouse & keyboard ports on opposite sides of the vga port, so this wouldn't be a problem.

I second the Belkin - switches systems by a keyboard hotkey instead of an actual button or switch on the unit.
