need help

Though i have created the report in version 8 i am trying to compile using the distribution expert. but when i try to open the exe,i get this message as invalid report version.
Why?

Does the compiled report's exe file work OK while it is on the PC where it was originally compiled?

The reports where being opened on the same machine it was
compiled.

Open the report, recompile it (without distribution) and list all the steps until you run the exe and it fails. Make sure that the EXE, RPT and CRF are in the same folder after you compile. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

1.open the created report and from the report menu i compile the report .
2.check the appropriate folder for the compiled reports and try to open the crf file.
3.problem occurs
