You are both correct, however. While the [tt]width=[/tt] and [tt]height=[/tt] attributes may not be required (as BabyJeffy pointed out), any experienced internet programmer has found (and every internet user has seen) that pages do indeed load more smoothly and with less "shuffling" (which, I believe, adds significantly to how professional a site appears) when the width and height of each image are pre-determined in the HTML code.
