Whenever I copy and paste a picture into Word I have to constantly go into the format picture/layout area to set it to "TIGHT" before I can move or size the picture.

Is there a way to set this to default? I already have it set to "TIGHT" in the tools/options/edit area but I still have to do this everytime I paste a picture.

Thanks,
Debbie

You could change the Normal.dot template to include your amendemnt.

I'm sorry but I'm not following you. I searched my drive and I don't have a file called 'normal.dot' that would be a default file the Word uses. I could create one and open this file whenever I want to start a new .doc but I don't think that is going to help.

The main problem is:

Whenever I paste a picture and change the format to 'tight', I can then delete that picture and repaste the same picture and I would still will have to go back into the picture format and change it to 'tight' again. The settings will not save.

Normal.dot is normally found in C:\windows\application data\microsoft\templates

What are you using as the Picture Editor? I have mine set as Microsoft Word. I can't see any of the options you describe.

My editor is set to Microsoft Word.

Try going to the web and right click on a graphic and select copy. Then go to Word and paste the graphic to a .doc.

Are you able to move or resize that graphic?
I can't. I always have to right mouse click on it and go to 'format picture' then to the 'layout' tab to set it to 'tight' before I can do anything with it.

Now if I go to insert a graphic from a file on my system I have no problem. It must use the default settings that you set by going to tool/options, then edit tab.

I hope there is a way to do this. It gets frustrating having to reset this all the time

Thanks,
Debbie

Try the following.

Right Click on the graphic.

Use Save as (rather than copy)

Save the file as jpg

Open up Word

Use Insert > Picture > File

Select the name of the file

It will then insert and then you can change the shape any way that you wnat.
