go to microsoft knowledge base

do a search on "winsock control"

The Winsock control, invisible to the user, provides easy access to TCP and UDP network services. It can be used by Microsoft Access, Visual Basic, Visual C++, or Visual FoxPro developers. To write client or server applications you do not need to understand the details of TCP or to call low level Winsock APIs. By setting properties and invoking methods of the control, you can easily connect to a remote machine and exchange data in both directions.

Attitude is Everything

In order to exchange the data, explore the new VFP7 functions CURSORTOXML() and XMLTOCURSOR()

A couple of options come to mind:
1. Win2000 Terminal Server
2. The above with Citrix Metaframe software. You get more control with this.

It depends on your budget. Depending where you are in the world, and easely accessible things are.

We have built a Win2000 with Citrix Metaframe Server for under $10,000 (USD). One application running on the server and everybody usind minimum ADSL 1.7 (some T1 lines).

Thanks for your responses,

I'm in Montreal and my clients are very tight on budget, so i must forget a server wich cost 9,000-10,000 USD (sorry mgagnon) so i will try the winsock solution for the moment.
I'll let you know if it worked.

Sorry for the delay, we adopted the following solution :

VPN. Terminal server. We take the advantage of a payments server

Cheers,

Bogdan

Hi mgagnon

In that case it is "la banierre" wich will pay for his members the VPN and all the kit. Our software will replace the TPV machines for Visa, Interac, etc.. with our keyboards with reading sensors. So we win the head office.
