My brother won a couple of Intel Xeon processors:
604-pin
Speed: 2.4GHz
533MHz system bus
1MB L3 Cache
PROD CODE: BX80532KE2400ESL7D4
MM# 859259
I don't want them to go to waste so Im going to build a computer. What do I have to make sure matches when i select the motherboard? Is it just the socket? (604 pin)?
If the motherboard has an 800MHz FSB, does that mean my cpu will work in it? Or does the motherboards FSB have to match at 533?
What about the L2, and L3 cache sizes? I see some specs of motherboards say 1MB L2 cache but these chips only have 512Kb. Is it just saying the motherboard can support up to a 1MB L2 cache?? Or does it have to match at 512Kb.
Would the ASUS NCCH-DL board work with my cpu's?
Any other suggestions/tips?
Thanks
