Here is what i want to do. I've got a form that is linked to a table and I want to create a command button that when you press it copy's the record from the table to another table and then delete the record from the first table. I know you can do the copying part with a append query. But how do I do the rest.

Have you tryed using a delete query to delete the required fields?

Ok I got the delete part now but how do I get my append query to append just one record in the table and not the whole table to a new table

how are u selecting the record that you want to append from the form.?

I'm actually looking for help on this, how did you get the record to be deleted?? CJB

Ok I created my own form now I use this form to do my company’s job cards. So when you open the form you can brows through all the available jobs. Now if a job is finished I want this command button to append the specific record, in this case being a job card to a completed jobs table. I'm new in access and I'm learning as I go on. It’s properly just me being stupid!!

The delete query wont work because it deletes all the rows in the table and I only want to delete certain rows just like I want to append certain rows
