Hi!

We're a small web hosting company, and have just recently decided we need to upgrade to a 34 Mbps Internet connection. Thus we need a new router, and wanted some tips on what kind of router(vendor(s)/model(s)) would be most interesting for us to look closer at?

Need more information. Security, protocols, links, ISDN, dedicated or Cable? Traffic management issues. Average BANDWIDTH USAGE?

At 34 Mbps you're looking at ATM or HSSI controller. In theory a 2600 might be able handle the load if you're using a default route and no special features (queueing, filtering, routing protocol, multicast...)

At a minimum you need a 3600 series router. A 3620 has 2 bays for network module, a 3640 has 4.

If it were me I'd get a used 7204VXR off Ebay. It has enough horsepower to do just about anything you would run into and shouldn't cost you more than 5-6K on Ebay. ----------------------------------------
