I am new to networking. I have placed a post here for help regarding setting up a network (thread96-430470). A programmer that we outsourced has suggested that I should read up and purchase a book on Windows 2000 server and networking. In your opinion, which book should a purchase? I need something that will be understandable, has examples and can take me step by step in configuiring my Windows 2000 network. Any suggestions and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

MCSE Training Kit for the exam 70-215 is good and comeds from Microsoft Press. Sams Teach yourself Ms Windows 2000 Server in 21 days is also good. Glen A. Johnson

WE use the mastering windows 2000 server fourth edition published by cybex ISBN 0-7821-4043-2 this book is very good, and I have not been able to find a better one, we own 6 w2k server books, this is the IT bible!

thanks,
Aaron

i cast my vote for mastering windows 2000. mark minasi's writing style is very easy to read. this book is very complete for a one book purchase. not so detailed as to bog you down, there are other books for this purpose.
