Not crystal reports - too expensive.

We use data dynamics active reports, but I want something for .net and asp.net. They have no upgrade options, and I'm not real fond of their package anyway.

What do you all use for reports and web reports?

Use Crytal Reports. It comes with Visual Studio.Net enterprise and is fully compatible with DataSets and XML and you can displaty pages over the web easily enough.

Best thing is is you have the .Net Enterprise IDE its free.

So the version of crystal reports comes FREE with VS 2003? I thought this was just a "play" version.

I can use this and put it on my web site royalty free, so my sales people can see and convert the reports?

Sorry. I'm really new to .net.

Thanks

Thanks so much. Now I'm off to play with it!

Do you know how to make this work?

I can't get crystal to use my connection, only one that IT wants to create. I'm so lost with this drag and drop conection and database stuff.

When I create the connection with the crystal wizzard, then it works but always prompts me with a password. I want to bury the password. We have open security here. Everyone is allowed to work with the databases.
