im a beginner asp programmer and am stuck im making a chat app and cant figure out for the life of me how to get it to replace this - for an image

If your just wanting to replace it with image tags, you could use either a regular expression or the replace method:
Replace(expression,find,replacement)

so:
Response.Write Replace(myString,&quot;&quot;,&quot;<img src='images/smiley.gif'>&quot
