Hello all,

After installing Win2K and using the NAT feature in my office of 50 users for internet connectivity, I have alteast 2 users calling me everyday saying that they cannot get connected to the net. When I restart the server they are able to get connected. This happens to different users daily...and its not a problem on the switches bec even after trying everything...a simple restart on the Server solves the problem. Is there any tweaking required for NAT ?
or is there somethings I missed out.

how large is your dhcp scope? when those problem users call, if you go to their workstations, do they have the proper IP info loaded?

I have not installed the DHCP Server. I am manually assinging them their IP Addresses.

Also, these PC's can ping the local Lan adaptor and the WAN adapter, but not the WAN Gateway

Two things:
1) Do you have enough CALs for all of your users to access your servers concurrently? Are they able to access the server when they can't access the net?
2) You may want to consider using DHCP like Bronto mentioned. That can really make network administration a lot easier when you make changes to your network setup.

my dos centavos,

Joe Brouillette
