(I know this has probably been covered before, but I searched & didn't find much)

How important is it to get name brand? If so, which brands are best? Are Hitachi, Toshiba OK?

TIA

Hi dannybones!

Hm... Hitachi and Toshiba? At least these are brand names.
I would take Kingston modules (it's a brand name for RAM modules). They have been tested in a (german) computer-magazin and only Kingston got a good marks!
The test was about compatibility with mainboards and the detection of the right clocking speed in the bios.

But perhaps someone has other favorites... i am looking for good modules too! ;-)

bye
