Customer wanted to change the NAM VM P/W from the standard 102XXXX to another one. Ok, so I reset MB 102 then entered it and it asked that I needed a new PW so I entered the new password then it asked to reenter the new password, nothing strange there. Now I can not access F983 any longer with the new or old password.

Any suggestions? Can I reset back to the 102XXXX P/W and try again?

so u did f983
102**** and is will not let u in?
waht about f981
then ****
does that let u in???

**** denotes new password

Yes, I believe I did both. I am going back tonight and will try MB 102 perhaps since I changed the PW to MB 102 I have to access it that way. I will tell you that I have never had a request to change the Admin. PW before.

Can I access the 266344 system level and correct anything from that section?

Is there a way just to reinitialize everything back to default settings. This is a new site and they only have a few MB set up so it will not be a big problem to reinitialize everything. If so do you have the instructions to reinitialize?

I would love to get this back in service before Monday.

Thanks Brian. You guys at J&J are a great help. I left a message at your sales office regarding some Partner compatible wireless headsets I am looking for for a customer.

Thank you Brian. I got it defaulted however this customer turned out to be a real deadbeat.

He owned me a balance and was only going to pay half until I got his service working again. He was the one that needed the DS modules. I loaned him two of mine and told him either pay the balance or find yourself another vendor.

It got nasty and his partner blocked me in the parking lot until I told him I was calling the police.

This was a boiler room mortgage loan operation or as my XO rep. calls them the slimy mortgage guys.

They have been a real pain from the start. I should have known something was not right when he told me he did not want his usual vendor to do the work and he started making promises to me of more offices opening. Then he said that they might be moving next month. They just moved into a beautful office park.

All of my equipment got stuck in the elevator one night and the repair man had to be called out and this slim actually expected to bill me for that service call. I got stuck and I he expects me to pay to fix the elevator.

Anyway I know all of us have these horror stories. I am so use to having wonderful customers that when one of these boiler room slimes comes by I get caught off guard.

It was a rush job and I always have problmes with getting paid for rush work. From now on new customers with rush work will be COD and the check gets cashed first.

I did manage to pull my two DS modules that he never paid for. he did get back up and running so I guess some poor vendor wanting to help got suckered in like me.

Well at least I got a deposit payment out of the guy. I guess I broke even that is better than nothing.

That's been my experience with boiler room operations too, although two customers I had in CA who telemarketed office supplies and home warranties were my best customers. They always cut me a check on completion of every job. I got burned on a rush job once for $1300 when the guy's check bounced. I called his bank every day until they said funds were available and cashed it immediately. He was furious as I "made him bounce" several other checks he had written. 90% of customers are honest, but I was always leery of telemarketers and new customers with rush jobs . If someone couldn't give me at least 50% up front to cover the equipment I declined the job.

Thanks. Just reposted this under Norstar War Stories to see what others have gone through. Hope they don't delete it.

I also just left a message for Jim regarding a channel bank.

Why are you so worried about your posts being deleted aeronet? If this is a problem I would contact the powers that be.
