Customer is running a 8 port fiber nam w/4.1.05 on a MICS 6.1 System. The trouble is that with very little call volume, the system is kicking back calls transfered to extensions because VM will not pick up at 4 rings. If you try F983 I get "VM Busy". After I wait a few seconds, it will let me in. When the VM said busy, I quickly went into system admin to show that only 1 set was active in system "Module Status". Is there anything that you guys (and gals) can recommend me to check further to assist my troubleshooting in this matter?

I appreciate your help!

VM uses P301, 302, 303, and 304 with B1 and B2 Channels for a total of 8 ports.

port status in maintenance shows PCID on B1 and B2 channels on ports 301-304 all active and idle. When I hit Feature 915 it says inactive feature, but the VM system is up and running fine?! F985 shows Set 280.

Is there a NIC in the NAM? If so, can you access it via NVM manager?

915 can sometimes get enabled as another code, but still close to that number. I can’t remember the exact possibilities, but you could try 916, or 913-918, etc...

Somewhere in f983 there is Option>Add or View
you could view how many licensed channels you have.
I would bet in ACCESS Server your chan status would show ..@@@@@@
and you only have 2 licensed channels.

Do feature**xftest. Password will be Your config password.
This will tell you what feature codes you have. Usually the first one will be your ACCESS feature.

If this is a NAM that has been reconfigured some how losing its sekur key then you may have to reinstall your sekur key disk for activayion of other authorized channels.

When F915 says inactive, try each number consectively up to 930. Have had a couple of NAM's in the past that used 927 and 928 to get in.
