I'm looking for the NAM 4.1 software upgrade. I understand that the 4.1 software is a free patch/download if you are fortunate enough to have access to support. And then the item that you would need to actually buy is a keycode.

But I also gather from reading other posts that sometimes a keycode is not needed and other times it is needed. This is regarding a V3G, Mod 6 (upgraded to 8 channels), ver 4.0.04C. Interfacing with MICS 6.1 MR (wi 06.10.

So wondering if anyone out there has a copy of the 4.1 NAM software. And if I subsequently find out that I actually need the keycode, guess I'll have to spring for the big bucks to buy it....

if you are at 4.0 on the NAM, you need a CD and one diskette, and a backpack of course to run the CD.Keycode necessary from 3.0

I have the CD, I will try to find the disk. Be glad to send you a copy if I can get your address.

When I tried to run the full CD (the one with the Access upgrade included), the backpack started reading the files and then the long descending tone cadence set in (suggesting that I may need a keycode).

But lots of other posts suggest that since I'm already at NAM 4.0 AND also have a keycode already in place (which probably took it from a 6 port to an 8 port NAM), I should only need the short version patch, available on a floppy.

Narsbars, Thank you in advance for sending it! Dinner and drinks are on me if you're in my area...

We'll see how it turns out once I load the patch (floppy version).

If your NAM was purchased from Nortel at 4.0 or upgraded from 3.0 you should not need the keycode (since the 3.0 to 4.0 requires a keycode). If you purchased the NAM imaged with 4.0 then the NAM does not have the keycodes. There is a section of F915 that allows you to view keycodes that are applied in the NAM. Chances are that if there is a keycode, it is the proper one. If you have no keycodes then you will have to purchase the upgrade keycode.

Gecko,

Since I inherited this system, not completely positive how it was originally configured. But since it was purched in 3/2001, AND there is a keycode already in it, I'm pretty sure that it started out as a 4.0.

For now I'll wait for a copy of the patch (the one that I understand came originally on a floppy) and see how that works.

Thanks for your input!

The floppy version did the trick WITHOUT the need for an extra keycode (which is what I was hoping for and expected). It's also good to have the CD version if I should need to upgrade the Access files as well.

** Thank you Narsbars !! **
