After running MySQL on a Linux box for over a month, it appears to have 'hung'. Attempts to connect with a client (Mysql or mysqladmin) meet with no response. safe_mysqld starts the daemon but then 'hangs'. I'm no sys admin so I just tried uninstalling & reinstalling the rpm. The install hangs at the point of starting the daemon too. Tried running safe_mysqld with a different port & socket to no avail. Any ideas? The database gets minor use as a stock database & was used by ezmlm as a store of a 2000 name email list. I've uninstalled ezmlm to see if that caused the problem but no joy.
