I am developing a PHP/Mysql search application.
I have all the files ready and the database is big.
I am going to signup for a hosting provider.
How do I transfer the mysql database to the webserver.

I use phpmyadmin locally. I see something called "export" option. How do I export my database to the webserver.
or do I need to feed the contents again on my webserver.

Use the Export option and choose SQL...

This will generate sql files that contain all the values and tables in your db...

Import them into the new host db - usually there is a seperate utility that the web host will provide through their control panel to upload/backup your site files including db files. In my host setup they have a "site backup" link that allows you to do all of this.

If there are files you need to import the files into the webhost in the same directory structure as listed in the db.
