my tools and help recipes have gone missing 2

Hi I went to use my crop tool and realised that all of that panel has gone missing, also the help recipes are no longer there. do I have to reinstall my PE2 to get them back or is there another way?

Hi,

Have youi tried going to WINDOW > [toolbar]/[layers], etc

You may have also accidentally pushed Tab, Tab gets rid of all of those palettes so you can look at your work in PS without any boxes being in the way.

If Photoshop's behavior becomes erratic and if you've checked the obvious settings, you can always reinitialize Photoshop by deleting the preferences file. I don't recollect the name on the Mac, but with a PC, use the computer's search function for the file: "Adobe Photoshop X prefs.psp"
You can delete it, or if you're the paranoid type, save it with a new name. When you restart Photoshop, the prefs file is rebuilt with the "out of the box" configuration. Lost palletes, tools, etc. reappear.

YOou don't have to go searching for that file, simply follow the instructions here faq229-2082 to obtain a new set of pref files from the config.

Thank you to spiderix and Georgert. I have managed to find my tools again.
I went to photoshop preferences on my Mac and reset all tools. I dont know if that is what did it but I eventually found the little BL88**&&66 hiding behind the recipe box.
so all is well

Stars to you both and I will keep in mind all you siad if it ever disappears again.
