Hi everyone.
Please I need your help here:
I had a crash of my PDC today. I reboot it. Everything look OK. But I found the following message into mt event view log.
A duplicate name has been detected on TCP network. The IP address of the machine that sent the message is in the data. Use nbtstat -n in a command window to see which name in the conflict State.

I did so and found two name in conflict. The administrator and SMSSA.
What should I do? Thanks a lot for your help.

Check the machine nam in the net configuration (either 95/98, or NT) and change the machine name of the offending system (not the pdc).
Jim Collin
Jim@collin.cc
<a href= Technologies
Consumer Technology Integration
If you have a BDC, it should promote itself to the PDC. Install NT on the box that crashed and promote it back through server manager. If you don't have a BDC... Get one.

BDC don't promote themselves to PDC. PDCs get demoted when you manually promote a BDC to PDC.
