Try the auto-detect in the BIOS. If nothing there , your hard drive probably has bought the farm.
But try reseating the cables, and check in the BIOS that the controller is enabled.
These things happen. You may find that the data is in data heaven unless you pay big bucks to a recovery service.
You could also try it in another machine to verify that it is really the culprit. Ed Fair
