My Documents folder empty after System Recovery (windows Xp)

Got a brand new machine installed Windows XP Home Edition.
Yesterday, i did System Recovery, and then all my files in My Documents are missing.
But all application software such as Microsoft Office are still there.
How can i get files back?
Please help!

I've noticed that on some upgrades, some sub-directories are overwritten, but the data is saved under a different name. Look with Windows Explorer at any "strange" names.
