my documents copies itself in my documents

i am working with a LAN using server 2000 and we have found that the "my documents" folders and its contents is copying itself and putting a "my documents" folder inside itself and this goes on and on, seamingly intermittently.

we are also running ME machines with the same trouble. we run an anti viras package but this has not brought anything to light any suggestions out there would be greatly appreciated.
