After two years of flawless operation, yesterday my monitor started to randomly go black for a second or two and then starts back up, showing the same window that it went balck on. All the programs continue to run fine. It sometime happens 3-4 times a minute; sometimes it happens once every 5 minutes. I can't replicate it.
It seems to sometimes be triggered by a window change/open/close. Other times it just goes black for a second while I'm paused on the same window. It happens in all applications. Other than that, everything about the computer works perfectly.
Monitor and power cables all look good. Monitor passes Dell's monitor test. Devise manager shows all good.
I'm stumped. It's driving me crazy. Any ideas? Thanks folks

Does it exhibit the same behaviour when connected to a different computer?

That might help to establish if it's monitor or video adaptor related...
