You could have a cooling problem. You might check to see if all your fans are working and clean out the dust from inside the cabinet if it hasn't been done in a while. If your CPU gets too hot, it will quit working.
You could also have a bad power supply or mobo or a number of things. Since you have been playing a game, it could be that your CPU is overheating.

Could be your RAM as well (not enough)

It's not enough that you have enough RAM installed, 'cause you might have resources eating half of it.

I agree with Nelix, see if there is an updated driver for your video card.
Also go into safe mode and see how many monitors, video cards you have listed.
If it's more than one, remove ALL of them and reboot. They will be detected during normal start up.

as i said..im not a pro in computers...and last time i THINK i downloaded the latest version for my driver and my screen was all weird...i fixed it up (like it was shrinked and stuff) and once i played my game...the screen was all in the wrong position! I was thinking there might be a virus on my comp and i reformatted my comp...but nothing much on my comp... but it still resets!!! When i got this game it didnt reset until a few months later!!! I dont wanna download a driver if it would mess my computer up again

You probably play the game at a different resolution than what is on your desktop. Also, download Directx 8 (I think that's the most current). I'm sure that directx drivers came with the game but they are usually old. Another option is going to the developer's site and looking for patches for Counterstrike.
Is Counterstrike an addon to Halflife??? If so, then the developer is Valve.
