I am running Windows 2000, and I must have messed something up, because now when I double-click on My Computer, it doesn't show C:, but when I go into Windows Explorer, I *do* see C:. Can anyone help please?

"One Database to rule them all, One Database to find them,
One Database to bring them all and in the darkness bind them."

what does my computer show?

what does disk management (run diskmgmt.msc) show?

when did this change (ie, assume my computer used to show C:) - and anything associated (hardware/software changes, virus, crash etc).

Hi, thanks for the reply. My Computer shows all other drives like it should: 3 1/2 floppy (A:), Compact Disc (R:), Compact Disc (W:), Control Panel, My Network Places, Recycle Bin, etc.

Disk Management shows the drive fine. It shows (C:), Partiion, Basic, NTFS, Healthy (System), Capacity, etc.

I haven't added any hardware, and I always have Norton Virus protection running...

You know what's really weird? If I open Windows Explorer, it shows C: (I have it set to open at C: from a shortcut on my desktop - Target: %systemroot%\explorer.exe /e,/root,), but if I open Windows Explorer from the Start->Programs->Accessories link, it doesn't show C: there.

Thanks wolluf, that was it! I don't know how C: got unchecked, in TweakUI, but that was it. Thanks again.
