Hi,

Would I be able to send an email from a new exchange server (only outbound), if the mx record for the address i am sending from is already in use on a live server?

Thanks,
W

Sending has nothing to do with MX records. Be more concerned with the reverse DNS record.

Chances are that the live server already has a reverse lookup record (PTR) created at your ISP, so your new internal server will probably piggyback on the existing server's.
