We have an Avaya S8700 with Intuity Audix voicemail. We have one user with an 4621SW IP phone set, that is having trouble with his Message Waiting Light. The light turns on when a message is left. After about 10 seconds, it turns off. In Audix, it shows that he has a new message when the light is on. It shows no new messages when the light is off. All of settings are the same as the other users. We have tried swapping phones, POE ports. Last resort, I was going to delete mailbox & extension, then rebuild them.
Any ides? Thank you.

Maybe msg is forwarding to email and turning off the light?

They are not set up to go to email, but we do have Message Manager. I wonder if its the same concept. We called Avaya, They believe that is an Audix problem. They are still running tests. I will post when they have a solution. I am guessing we will save all messages, delete his mailbox, and re-create it. Thank you

if you do a 'disp act xxxx' in the voicemail, do you see where it is being logged into and the mesage deleted?

thanks, tim

Yes. We can look at the activity. Leave a message, it shows MWI is on. After 10 seconds, it shows that it is off. The phone matches what the activity report shows.

Avaya is doing an update tonight on our Audix, so hopefully that will fix it. Its only one user having the problem. Seems strange to me, if it was an update problem why aren't more users affected?

remove the user with del sub. wait 5 minutes (important) then re-add the subsciber.

Avaya did an update on the 23rd, seemed to work. Now we find out we have a user that the MWL comes on when there are no messages. So, we called Avaya to see what they will come up with. We have a maintenance contract, so we will see. Thanks to everyone for their posts. I will post the results, when I find out.

on the station with no messages, if you do a 'status station xxxx' what does it state by the message waiting field? it is possible it is a lwc message.

thanks, tim
