Hello,

I have a g3siv8, i am dealing with all 8410d's, i have available buttons on the phones and i am trying to get an xported extensions voice mail to light on multiple phones, four to be exact for the HR departmen. I found the aut-msg-wt feature and applied it to my phone and left a message on a test ext but my button does not light. Any advise?

Did you switch the "Message Lamp Ext: xxxx" field on the station form to the extension you want it to look at?
This field defaults to the extension number it belongs to.

Hope this helped.

Rob

I will be leaving the "message lamp ext" at defualt because each of the phones already has it's own voicemail. ON friday I added the "aut-msg-wt" lamp button to my phone for a test vm box and it appears to day that light is light on button six. Hopefully i already resolved it

You have to have a seperate Station for each VM Box, the type field on the form should be MLBOX with the port x out, the Message Lamp field should have the same extension as the Station you just set up as MLBOX, the coverage path should be the voice mail hunt, and the voice mail number has to be the same as the Station you typed as MLBOX. Then assign the MWI to the button you want to have display when a message is left in the box. This can be any button on any phone as long as the aut-msg-wt is the Voice Mail extension.

i have one mailbox that 4 people need to check messages on. All i did was add the feature 'aut-msg-wt ext:1700' to button six of all four phones and today it appears to work. There individual numbers still light on the regular MWI. Friday when I configured it for a test on my phone it didnt light today when I came in it was lite. Anyway it appears to have been resolved. Thanks to everyone for your comments.

Hey FIxerofphones,

When you say type 'MLBOX' you talking about a preconfigured alias correct? I just have type as 8410d and it appears to work.

If you right Click on the field called "Type" in the Station form Page 1 then scroll down to MLBOX. this tells the PBX that your Station is now a Mail Box reference to the adjoining VM Box Number on your VM System, the port is 'x', the Coverage path tells the PBX where to send the call to (the vm system) and the "Message Lamp ext:" this is my mistake - there is no extension put here as it is a MLBOX Type phone, you only need the extension if you create an Agent Station in which case the extension would be the Agent's Voice Mail Box Number. Then on any station you want, hard code a feature button (aut-msg-wt) with the extension of the vm box and or station extension you just created. Hope this helps. On a CMaster phone you can add as many MWI lamps as you there are buttons. We have one station with 15 buttons programmed and we leave it in the middle of the floor so that anyone can see if a message has been left, our SLA is 2 hours on VM responce so some one will see the lamp within that time frame. Hope this clears it up, if not let me know.
