I have an IP500 running 4.2.17 and I have a MultiTech MultiVOIP MVP130-FXS connected via IP line with Fax Transport Support enabled. When I connect a buttset to the analog port of the MVP i can call out and in with two way talk path. When I connect a fax machine to the modem and try to fax it will dial out and connect and you will hear fax tones but it is almost like the two faxes cannot hear eachother. The fax always fails and I get the error "other fax not responding" from the sending report. Does anyone know what settings should be on the MultiVOIP to allow faxing?

Have you tried putting an MVP130 on each side.Set MVP faxing to T38 and make sure fax is set to 14400

Already tried that with the same results. It is like it is running in half duplex and the fax tones are not being heard by either party

Put the send/receive baud rate from the fax to 9600bps.

Or wait for version 5.0 the the MVP can connect to SIP and that will support T38

On 4.2 you need H.323 and you MUST use the G711A/U codec and enable FAX transport on the IP Phone.
