Anyone know what the magic music-on-hold box is that Lucent drops off in amongst the 300 documents and spare cables during an install ? Is it simply a 8 ohm to 600 ohm transformer ? I tried plugging a speaker-out connection from a PC into my analog port disgnated as the source for Music on hold. I heard noise, but I'm sure I need something else. Somebody decided to clean out our telco closet so if it wasn't bolted down, it was thrown out.

I have a KS23395L4 connected to my music source and aux port. From the music source (my puter) I have a stereo mini split and spliced to a rj45. (green and red wires I think). The rj45 goes to the KSbox...from the box I have a rj11 going to the aux port...splicing of the red and green and punching them down in the port assigned.

I'm not sure why it wasn't working the first time around other than maybe the fact I used a 50 foot RJ-11 cable but then replaced it with a 12 inch pigtail. Seems to be working now!

Just for everyone else's info:
I used a RJ45 "biscuit" to wire in the stereo channels coming out of my computer into the PBX. You may need to adjust the volume a little, but once you find the right setting, it seems to work pretty well. We are planning on using MP3's as backgroup music and then WAV files as announcements. the sound card will mix the two formats nicely.

You can use this circuit, since my switch use this circuit to connect, from PC (winamp) to analog port for almost a year. It generate clear and nice sound, I used it for 4 source MOH with each soundcard play different music comes from PC.
This circuit I got from our local Avaya Vendor.

from PC soundcard }--||--||-----<------} to analog port
C1 C2 > R1
from PC soundcard }--||--||-----<------} to analog port
C3 C4

C1,C2,C3,C4 = Capacitor 6,8uf 50V Non Polar
R1 = 820ohm 10 Watt

For volume adjusment, you can do it from Winamp/Windows.
I don't know how to insert picture in this post, and I don't want to insert it from web server. It's lots of pain to maintain free web server. Any Ideas ?
I have more helpfull circuit, like recording from/to PC/Announcement (vice versa).

Hope this circuit helpfull.
