Music on Hold - old 6X16 Norstar

I have an old Norstar 6X16 and cut down a jack on the 25th pr (V/S) in the 25 pair coming out of the key system. Set the background music to 'Y' and tested all. No music on hold; the system still beeps, when someone is placed on hold. Out of ideas - any help out there in Phoneland.

You have to turn on the option for MOH. Its either MOH Silence or Beeps. I cant off hand remeber where it is but most likly in System programing

I think I did that already. I set Background music to 'Y'.
Are you telling me there is another option requiring a change to get it to work?

Yes one for background music and the other or MoH

It's either in Config/Call handling, or Config/Misc. I don't remember which. The setting will read "On Hold:Tones". Change it to "On Hold:Music", and you should be golden.
