Could anyone provide me with some information on how to install a music on hold coupler (Avaya part / model #KS-23395L4) to an analog port on my phone system?

There are three ports on the unit. One is labeled System 25, one is labeled Voice Coupler or Reg Source and the last port is labeled Non Reg. Source.

TIA,
Steve

The system 25 jack is where you connect to the analog or aux port. I used a rj-11 and punched down the red and green wires to the a aux port. The I bought a 1/8 stereo mini cable from radioshack pre split at one end. (this can also be a rca to pre split)

I then split one end of a rj-45 jack.
The split ends of the stereo mini I connected to the red and green wires of a rj-45. The other end of rj-45 goes into the Reg Source.

If your music source doenst have a stereo mini input but maybe speaker outputs...you can forget about the stereo mini and connect the red and green of the rj-45 directly into the music source via its speaker outputs.

Hope this helps...I sometimes get ahead of myself.

You can actually connect your music source directly to an analog port.

if you connect the music source direct to a analog will it cause a voltage feedback. one of my client tried doing this and the sound card on the laptop got brunt!

Did he connect to an unused analog port or to a port with a ststion assigned? If it was a station port, yes ringer voltage can get you.
If you assign a MOH port and connect to it there should be no problem. I have used a laptop in the past and now have an mp3 player connected directly.

hey I think i miss that out. i must check on his extension for the port again. thanks

I need to have this setup with it's own extension in order to program my vectors....hence the MOH coupler....

I'm going to try this today....we'll see how it turns out...
