MUSIC EDITING, NEED MORE SPEED AND SPACE?

HAVE 300MHZ, 1GB DRIVE, AND 64MB OF RAM. NEED MORE? WOULD YOU RECOMMEND A CERTAIN CD WRITER FOR THE JOB? MY PC IS A PACKARD HELL.

First off dont type in all caps, secondly I think 128Megs may be more adequant for more popular mixers, 1GB may be rather small since you'll be working with alot of waves, and would need least 650Megs of free disk space to burn audio to a CD. if you were to convert each song to mp3s you could save considerable space, but you would still need a litte more than 650Megs of space to burn a CD. Any burner should do fine, HP, Mitsumi...
 
I wouldn't go with anything less then:

pIII 500
128Mb ram
20 Gb harddrive
cd-rw 8x4x32
Soundblaster live sound card (pick your flavor)
