I have 2 domains 123.com 456.com

123.com matches my win2000 domain and works fine internally and externally.

I have added 456.com into the recipient policy and updated the recipient update service. I created an mx record which points to 123.com which then points to the ip of my server. This all seems to work. When I send internally to 456.com it works fine. But externally I get the following ndr:

I suspect that RUS is the issue. If you look at the user object in AD, do you see the new SMTP address?

When you added the address to the recipient policy, did you check “This Exchange Organization is responsible for all mail delivery to this address”?

Well I took the tick out of generation rules and manually entered the smtp address. I have since added the tick in the generation rules and updated RUS. But no they don't show under the users email addresses. Any ideas?
Also have 2 other domains that did work at some point and now they don't. These were just test domains

Hmmm its working now and the addresses are showing in AD. I guess it was my impatience. I wonder how long it takes to update?

if you would have maunally updated AD and rebuilt the RUS it would have worked instantly.

Hey Jacksen,

I have a similar issue that I could use a hand on, if you have the time.

I have seen those, but they do not apply to my situation.

I did do a rebuild, and it didn't work straight away. I tryed it this morning and all was well, maybe some magic pixies popped in during the night. Thanks for the help. That msexchange.org is the tutorial I was looking at hence me changing my domain names to the ones used in it :)
