I have a 2000 server with four NIC's in it (3 for subnets 1 for ADSL Internet router) it likes using the NIC connected to the ADSL router at startup but every so often decides not to use the right card for internet connections, requiring a restart. I have the gateway on all the cards set to the IP of the ADSL router is this the right way to do it or is there a more reliable way of configuring these cards/server

Questions:
Is the ICS-enabled nic assigned a static IP address such as 192.168.0.1.

On the Sharing tab did you put a check in the box "Enable Internet Connection for this Connection".

Sound Like your TCP/IP settings are timing out. Are you using the same subnet value on each nic?

One additional note, only one default gateway should be configured on any multihomed computer leave the field blank on the other adapters that are not the default gateway nic.

Depending on your confidence and experience you could simply buy a hardware router.
Route once; switch many

Thanks that works and hasn't stopped yet! I need two of the subnets to talk to each other how do I configurre RRAS to do this by adding static routes I presume? The IP's of the two cards on the different subnets I would like to connect are
192.168.1.250 and
192.168.2.250

Both have a subnet mask 0f 255.255.255.0 how do configure the static routes to allow IP traffic to pass freely between the two subnets
