Multiple gateways in TCP advanced settings

If you use multiple gateways in the advanced settings of TCP/IP, and all addresses are configured with the same metric are the gateways used on a round robin? If not how is it possible to load share across multiple gateways.

The reason I need to know this is because we are having multiple broadband connections installed for increased bandwidth and redundancy. The connection into the LAN is easy Modem/Router > switch > server.

The more you know, the more you realise there is to know....

The multiple gateway is from LAN to WAN, the switch is used to save on multiple NICs (more than 2) in each server, the complete set up is:

4 ADSL modems

LAN
