Multiple domains on win2k and linux (E-Smith Server)

I'm not sure where this belongs but here is my problem...

I have one network at home

machine A - win 2k SBS + ISA Server + abc.com + DC

machine B - a linux machine (E-Smith) server only + xyz.com

Both machines works fine and all published services are working except for mail. On machine A I can send and receive mail @ domain abc.com with no problems

On machine B I can send mail but can not get mail @ xyz.com.

What I want to be able to do is either

1. Be able to send and receive mail directly from either machines using it's own domain name

or

2. have exchange server collects the email for both domains and then routes it to the correct location

Can anyone help me with this? I have double check my MX records on the windows machine and they seem ok to me. Since win2k is the DC will I have to add MX records to the linux box?

Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

could you post a little more info on the network setup? do you have more than one switch/hub? Do you have a router/firewall?

from what ive read, you could set up a pop account on your Exchange server for your LINUX box and relay thru the Exchange server. No need to have 2 Mail servers. That way, externally, both your domain names would point to the same IP.

I have ISA server installed on the win2k server which is the gateway.

All machines are running on the same subnet mask. All the services that I need on the Linux Box (squid, web and ssh) is working perfectly fine.

On the win2k machine all is well.

The only hickup is I cannot get mail on the linux machine using it's own domain name.

Now I don't have a problem sending all mails to the exchange server and then routing it to the linux box. This will also work for me it's just i have no idea of how to do.

well...you must only have one ip that is routable from the outside. if this is true, you will have to give 2 ip addresses to the firewall. Set the MX DNS at the authoritative DNS server for each ip. Set some firewall rules to forward all incomming requests to linuxdomain.com(the ip address)port 25 to go to the internal address of the linux server. If you cannot dual home the firewall, you will have to make an internet only address in exchange and have your linux box retrieve it from your exchange server via pop3.

I'll look into the dual home thing, however, how will I make an internet only address and have the linux box pull the mail?

This is very new waters for me and if you know how to or any sites where I can get this info it will be great.. Thanks for all the help
