Hi. I need with a very hard report. This is the problem:

I need do a report how this:

Header: Canal: Canal 1
Detail:
Area 1 Area 2 Area 3
Equipo 1.1 Equipo 2.1 Equipo 3.1
Vendedor 1.1.1 Vendedor 2.1.1
.
.
Vendedor 1.1.6 Vendedor 2.1.6
Equipo 1.2 Equipo 2.2
Vendedor 1.2.1 Vendedor 2.2.1
.
.
.
1 Canal --> N Areas
1 Areas --> N Equipos
1 Equipo --> 1 to 6 Vendedor

I need show 1 Area in every colum (4 columns max), and 4 equipo max in every area per page. Yes! Per page! If and Area have more than 4 equipos, the 5 and souivants must show in next page, but the first 4 equip of the other areas must show in the first page. Understand?

. Equipo 2.3 .
Equipo 1.4 Equipo 3.4

Page 2

Canal 1

Area 1 Area 2 Area 3
Equipo 1.5 Equipo 3.5
Equipo 3.6

I have separated the areas in columns, but when a Area have more than 4 equipos, the page don't break! continue in the next column...

Can someone help me?

Thanks.

Hi, Do you work at the Pannama Canal? I went there twice in the early 90's teaching R&R Report Writer. If so, I am glad to see that you have moved to Crystal.

What you need to do is to create a running total that counts the equipos and resets at the group associated with canal.

Next create a sub section for your group footer and check the "new page after" property. Click on the "X+2" for the "suppress" property and enter something like:

{runningtotal}<= 4

This should get you started.

Hi. Not, i'm not from Panama. I'm from Madrid, Spain.

I have a group by Canal, and in the Detail line a subreport where i obtain the Equips for one Area. Can i do that solution in the subreport? If i do a page break in the subreport when runningtotal <= 4, works good?

Report Structure:

Group Header by Canal
Canal General Info
Details (multiple columns, adjust to 4)
Area General Info
Subreport_Equipos (link by Area, Information Date)
Group Footer

The query recover 1 row for every Area in every Canal, sort by Canal, Area.
----
Subreport_Equipos Structure:

Group Header by Equipo
Equipo General Info
Details
Vendedores
Group Footer

The query recover 1 row for every Vendedor in every Equipo from the Area passed to the subreport, and the Vendedor Date is less or equal the Information Date passed to the subreport, sort by Equipo, Vendedor and Date descen. The Vendedor duplicated is omitted.

It may work. Give it a try. Howard Hammerman,
