We recently installed a new backup solution in our environment utilizing NW7.1.2. We have been very happy with the product and think it is leaps abounds ahead of Backup Exec which is what we utilized before. The issue we are having is we are migrating a large file server with approximately 1/2 terabyte of data and several volumes. We want to perform a directed restore to the new server and consolidate some of the files on the older server with the restore. However, what we are finding is restore is single threaded meaning only one volume recovers at a time. Supposedly Legato supports multi threaded restores but we can not seem to find any documentation on how to perform this function. Does any one have any experience with multi threaded restores if so please let me know how to do this.

Thanks.

First, this assumes that you must have multiple devices. The next requirement is that you must have the save sets sent to different media - well, not necessarily. You can actually run more than one recover from the same media. But you have to use the sommand line to start several recover processes. Then you have to mount the media as NW would not go back for a thread which he received later.

Give it a try - it's worth it.
