Hi all,

It is a bit of a long questions but I will try to explain my issues a good as possible.

We have currently a G450 with a 8300c in an external datacenter. Our first site has a G450 with a BRI trunk.
We are now going to add a new site (also G450 and BRI trunk) and add a PRI to the 8300.

The idea is that all outbounds calls use the local trunk.
For example: if I am in site 1, I use the trunk attached to the G450 in site 1. If I am in site 2, I use the trunk attached to the G450 in site 2.

Avaya has done the first setup but I don't see any local routing being setup. I'm now asking them how they will set it up when the 2nd site is attached but until now I just don't get any respond.....

So, I have been looking into Locations and I just need to get my head around the IP-NETWORK-MAP screen.
You have a FROM and TO IPaddress field and according to the manual the FROM IPaddress is the IPaddress of the remote system (??) and the TO IPaddress is the IPaddress of the local system (that is what I make out of it).

Assume the IPaddresses are as follows:
8300 10.111.33.1
G450 with 8300 10.111.33.2
G450 in site 1 10.222.44.2
G450 in site 2 10.333.55.2

I would like to have the following locations:
G450 with 8300 1
Site 1 2
Site 2 3

So, do I enter:
FROM TO Region
10.111.33.2 10.111.33.1 1
10.222.44.2 10.111.33.1 2
10.333.55.2 10.111.33.1 3

Or am I completely wrong here??

I just would like to know how it works so that I understand the solution/setup that Avaya will install (if they have figured it out themselves).

Thanks,

Not too far off... The IP-NETWORK-MAP is defining a range of IP's that you want to fall into a specific NR. Typically you define you Voice VLAN scope here (IP's for phones, Media Gateways, and Media Servers, etc...) What you are talking about though, is ARS LOCATION routing.

Site 1 - change ars ana location 1 0 (this will allow you to edit the routing for site 2)
Site 2 - change ars ana location 2 0 (this will allow you to edit the routing for site 2)

Hope this helps...

Thanks,
CJH

Thanks CJH,

So, let's say that site 1 has IP range 10.111.33.1 - 10.111.33.254 then I add those IPaddresses for Region 1.

As the CPU will be in this range as well, will this be an issue when I add more regions??
I have been reading a lot of PDF's about this and all state that the IPphone will connect to the local CLAN but I don't have CLAN's, just 1x 8300.
