Hi

In my reports I have a few text fields which got truncated. The alignment for the text is justified. I changed itti left alignment and checked. The font is Arial and the size is 10. The reports printer setting is landsape. When I take the preview in CRViewer some of the line gets truncated. I have set the CanGrow Property to true. Why its happening?

Thanx in advance

Does this happen when you print to paper, or only on the screen.
Does this happen with all printers or just one.

I would also check to make sure that you have the most recent printer driver for you printer. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

Dear Ken

I mentioned to forgot one thing. I am not viewing the report through Crystal Report Viewer. I am exporting this report to pdf and I am checking the pdf file. Also the text appears in the subreport and not in the main report. The main report has a page margin of 0.5 each (Right, left) and the subreport have pagemargin of 0.25 each.

Thanx in advance

If you changed the margins in the main report does the problem go away?

You might want to go to CD's website and do a search in the KB on PDF export issues. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

Hi

I searched the CD and found 2 articles. This bug was there in 8 and 8.5 and it seems that the bug exists in 9.0 also. For 8 , CD has a fix and 8.5 they have a different fix. They havent specified anything for Ver 9.0. Also there is another error when exporting to pdf "Too many color components". This error occurs when there are more than one justified text in the report. is there anyone who has got these problems for Ver 9.0? . The work around specified by crystal for ver 8.0 and 8.5 are not satisfactory as they are asking to change the alignment to left justified. Are there any other workarounds?

I have been dealing with crystal and cannot get them to admit that there is a problem with the export to .pdf. I am having what I refer to as the right margin text truncation problem only on reports created on my win2000 server. The same report created on my XPPro development machine formats fine. I have made sure the default printer is the same and that the latest drivers are on both machines but of course they are different due to the different operating systems. I found an old article on Ken Hamady's web site above which gives a good explination of print driver interaction in older versions of crystal. I am using version ( and had none of the problems in version 8 or 8.5.

My work around is to set each field horizontal alignment to justified ,use an ariel font, and set the paragraph indentation to .1 on the right side. I still have an open issue with crystal on this and will post an update if received.

Hi

Thank you for your reply. Thats a good work around. Then the second problem I mentioned in the post would come ."Too Many Color Components". This happends when I have more than one justified in the report. This will happen once in a while and the aapperance of the error is not uniform. In some pages it may appear and in some pages it may not appear. How often Crystal brings out hotfixes/Patches/
