MTA configuration

Hello,

I have setup a second Exchange 5.5 server in the same org, site and basically on the same VLAN as the production exchange server. However I am receiving 9322 and 9318 error messages in my event viewer. I cannot get the two MTA's to communicate. What I am trying to accomplish in the end is that when I shutdown my production exchange to move it to a new building, I want this secondary server to be able to bag the email for approximately 8 hours while the production server is being moved. I really appreciate some information to make this easier. I have not installed the MS Mail connector or the X400 connector on either server.

Hi Sparks48,

Your problem has to do with RPC connections. On server A add server B hostname and IP Address into the hosts file and do teh same on server B and that should sort your problem out.

Hi,
If you only want to bag the incomming mail, use a ordinary windows 2000 SMTP server.
