What causes the MsysObjects.DateUpdate field to update? Has anyone come across this not updating even when updates are made to an object?

Should be any change in design mode of the objects.

design mode does not seem to have made any difference. I have a form which was changed today 25/09/2002 but in the sysobjects the dateupdate field says 09/09/2002. I am extremely confused????
